Working with several Google teams, my role focused on one recurring challenge: explaining complex technical systems in ways that different audiences could quickly understand. These projects ranged from developer education and website content design to product messaging and instructional video scripting.
The common thread was communication clarity. Whether redesigning documentation, writing scripts, or restructuring websites, the goal was always to help users understand how a system works and what they should do next.
BLOCKLY WEBSITE REDESIGN: CONTENT DESIGN + DEVELOPER EDUCATION
Blockly is a visual programming library used by developers building educational tools and applications. The previous website struggled to clearly explain what Blockly was and why developers should use it.
I partnered with a UX designer to restructure the site and clarify its value proposition. I rewrote the site content to guide developers through a clearer user journey, from understanding the product to exploring implementation.
The most impactful change I made was the creation of a new tagline that succinctly explained Blockly’s purpose. This messaging became the foundation of the site’s narrative.
The redesigned site increased engagement, with views and click-through rates rising by 15%.
“How Search Works” is a five-part YouTube series explaining how Google Search operates. The audience included website owners, SEO professionals, and general users interested in how search results are generated.
I wrote the scripts for the series, translating complex technical topics such as crawling, indexing, and ranking into accessible explanations.
The challenge was balancing simplicity with accuracy. Each video builds on the previous one, introducing new concepts while reinforcing earlier explanations.
To make the material approachable, I used real-world analogies and structured each script around clear learning objectives.
RCS BUSINESS MESSAGING WEBSITE:
CONTENT STRATEGY + INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE
The RCS Business Messaging developer site initially dropped users directly into product pages without explaining the broader context of the platform.
I proposed creating a new top-level landing page that introduced Google’s Business Communications ecosystem and clarified how RCS fit within it.
I rewrote the homepage content and redesigned the content structure to make the site easier to scan and navigate. The result was a clearer entry point for developers and business decision-makers exploring the platform.
NEXUS PLATFORM VIDEO: PRODUCT MESSAGING
For Google’s internal NEXUS platform, I developed a script and visual concept for a short video explaining the platform’s value to developers.
The goal was to highlight how the platform streamlined development workflows while keeping the message concise and memorable.
Working with the product stakeholder, I translated complex infrastructure capabilities into a simple narrative supported by a strong tagline. The final concept received strong stakeholder feedback and demonstrated how clear messaging can simplify complex technical platforms.
